Camillus US Navy MARK2 Screw Top Pommel Fighting Knife USN MK2 RARE RARE Excellent Condition. Knife Description --> This Mark 2 fighting knife was manufactured by Camillus Cutlery out of Camillus New York for the US Navy in 1943. This particular version of the knife is the earliest of the Camillus Mark 2's and therefore the rarest and most valuable. What makes it so is the fact that it has a screw on pommel. Soon after issue, the soldiers complained about the pommels becoming loose during use and therefore the Navy recalled all of these type of knives and re-issued as a peened on pommel. This knife is 12" long with a 6 15/16" blade which shows that it has never been sharpened. The blade is marked "Camillus N.Y. on one side and "U.S.N. on the other. Knife Condition --> This knife has never been used or re-sharpened. It is in museum quality condition. Only markings on the blade are from inserting and removing it from its scabbard. The pommel/handle and guard are perfect, tight and mint condition. The leather handle is flawless with no nicks, scratches, rips or dings. Scabbard --> Is original military issue with fabric belt and clasp, metal insert guide and plastic case. "U.S.N. MK2" stamped on front and "NORD-6581" "B.M. Co. 9"on the back. It is in excellent condition. Overall this Knife is probably the best you will find anywhere. read more
