THIS ITEM IS SOLD WITHOUT RESERVE Description This is a vintage St Christopher badge from the dealership Car Mart Ltd dating to either shortly before the war (1930s) or just after (1940s/1950s). It would have been sold or given away with a vehicle, probably an Austin, and been attached to the dashboard. It has a central image of St Christoper surrounded by the words 'Regarde St Christophe puis Va t-en Rassure' which roughly translates as look at St Christopher then go safely on your way. This is in turn framed by a laurel wreath and surmounted by a black enamel scroll with Car Mart Ltd. It would not look out of place on any vintage vehicle. This is part of a collection of automobilia badges and mascots from both the pre and post war period which I will be listing over the coming months (with a number offered this week - please see sellers other items). This item is being sold WITHOUT RESERVE and with a 99p start price. Please do look at my other items as I will combine postage charges etc (see delivery below). Bid now to avoid disappointment. Measurements Approximately 55mm high and 48mm wide (badge only). Condition Please note that this item is approximately 70 years old. The finish to the main area has worn and there is a small chip to the enamel between mart & ltd. It might benefit from a clean. Please refer to the photographs. read more
