Meredith’s Fabulous Vintage Costume Jewelry This Auction is for... Vintage Castlecliff by Lawrence Vbra Aztec Faux Turquoise Pendant Item Details: Vintage: 1970-1973 Condition: Mint Rhinestone Colors: Faux turquoise navettes and oval stones. Metal Color: Silver toned signed CASTLECLIFF on the back. Size: 3.75 inches long by 2 inches wide. Additional Information: The black and white photo is from a New York Times advertisement from January 16th, 1973. Pre-Columbian and ethnic inspired designs by Larry Vrba for Castlecliff. According to Larry, the gorgeous glass centers were melted from beads from Castlecliff's own bead factory. Larry Vrba is a wonderful jewelry maker. He has been making jewelry for over 40 years and was the head designer at Miriam Haskell Jewelry in the 1970's. Larry makes jewelry for the Broadway Stage and Metropolitan Opera, as well as for boutiques, balls and vintage jewelry shops. His pieces are almost always quite large, usually four inches or more, and he has a huge collection of vintage beads and rhinestones from which to fashion them. Thank You for visiting my auction! Many of these items for sale are estate pieces and we have no knowledge if they have been altered or changed in anyway. However, all items are looked over very carefully for defects or problems. Condition Explanations: Mint- Vintage in like new condition. Usually (but not always) in the original box or card. Excellent- Outstanding condition. No noticeable wear to plating, no stones missing, all stones in excellent condition with no noticeable discoloration or spotting. Enamel is intact with no noticeable chipping or wear. Backs of pieces may show some wear and still be marked as excellent condition as long as any wear is not seen when item is worn. Great- No stones missing but there may be very slight darkening, yellowing or spotting in one or a few them but most will be in very good shape. May be some minor wear to plating but it does not detract from the piece. Enamel chipping/wear will be minimal. Good- Still very wearable but there may be more noticeable wear to the plating. There may be more significant darkening, yellowing or spotting to stones. Any enamel chipping will be noticeable but intact overall. Fair- Significant wear to plating and/or major darkening/yellowing of stones. Any enamel chipping/wear will be significant.
