is an older weight balance scale. I do not know much about these but I will try to explain it the best I can. The unit measures approx. 16 1/2" x 9 1/2" and stands about 18" tall. It has a metal casing (aluminum probably-a magnet does NOT stick to it). It has glass on all four sides and on the top. T is a label on it that says: CENCO, CENTRAL SCIENTIFIC CO., MADE IN U.S.A., DIVISION OF CENCO INSTRUMENTS CORP. The scale part inside is brass. It has numbers on it that go from 0-10 each way. T is a bar that extends outside the right side of the casing that moves the bar going across the top. T is a big brass turning knob on front that moves the scales up and down. T is also a black knob that pushes in and out that moves the bar across the bottom up and down. The front panel of glass lifts up so you can access the inside of the scale. Everything seems to work fine. It has 4 adjustable brass feet. T is also a little wooden box that has a bunch of brass weights in it (the largest one says 50G), a panel of glass, a pendulum-looking thing that looks like it goes on the scale-(t is only one of these-it says 9R-so I assume it is missing the left side-this is what the wire on the scale hangs by), some tweezers, some little metal pieces-(the largest one says 500 mg) and a little square white thing that says: SEEDERER-KOHLBUSCH, INC, ENGLEWOOD read more
