Vintage Chess Backgammon Game Set in Carry Case Box Red Pieces 18" x 18" I'm having a hard time dating when this chess / backgammon set is actually from. It's not a cheap set, and while the chess pieces are hollow, the beveled side design gives them structural integrity, and with no delicate points, they've held up better than the bacgammon chips. The chips are made of a heavier material which almost appears and feels to be a bakelite, but again, I'm unsure, so call it "plastic". They are chipped up, and are off white & black in color -- while the chess pieces are black & red in color. The box unfolded measures 18" x 18" and is structurally sound. It is covered in a black leatherette and the chess board appears to be silk screened on in red. The backgammon boards landing points are each a separate cutout material fixed in place -- so not painted on. I do like to play chess, and see this set as a nice one with character. The design is particularly convenient in that it doesn't take up much space, can be stored in any position, and is its own box. The king stands 2 1/4". The backgammon chips are 1 1/4" diameter. The chess board itself is 14" x 14". Box is 18" x 18". I was told this is a Drueke Chess set, whereas the red & white set is hard to come by. Thank you for this insight! I confirmed this as indeed "DRUEKE" is written on read more
