up for bids is this rare chriscraft challenger 5 hp outboard motor. this little darling is totally complete, engine turns free with great compression. this has been stored inside in a dry building for a couple of years, and the previous owner says it ran good when put in storage.i got this with the intentions of restoring it and putting it on a vintage wooden boat, but i already have too many irons in the fire, and too little time. this will need a little cleaning, and while im no expert, it looks to me to be in very good condition. no welds, broken parts, all paint matches, and the lower unit has almost no free play. handle, mount pivot, carbuerator linkage, etc, all looks like its free and moves like it should. im told this is probably a late 50's model motor. in my opinion this is in fantastic condition for a motor of this age.this is being sold as is.i cant make any guarantees on a 50+ year old motor, but i see these go for a lot of money on ebay in worse shape than this one! look at the pictures, and if you have any questions ill answer them to the best of my ability. this is going for no reserve, somebody gets a bargain , so bid to win! im listing a shipping cost of $85.00,lower 48, but if youre close to zip code 54552 i may be able to give you a bit of a break on this, and of course local pick up is always welcome, free of
