· Vintage Circa-1920 Bronze Combination "Able Tire Lock" · This lock is EXTREMELY RARE. I had never previously seen or heard of the "Able Tire Lock" prior to my recent acquisition of this one at an estate sale, and my subsequent research has yet to yield any indication that another one of these locks still exists · Lock is in 100% working order – lock's combination is KNOWN and will be provided to winning bidder · Lock's original manufacturing tag is still attached to the lock and it appears this lock was, luckily, never previously installed on an automobile, which is why it's in such great condition · Lock was manufactured, circa-1920, by Able Manufacturing Company, which was located at 731 Folsom Street, San Francisco , CA · Below is a link to Page 68 of the November 15, 1919, issue of "Motor West," which contains information about a SIMILAR lock to the one in this auction. The lock being auctioned was designed to secure an automobile's spare tire, whereas the link below is for a lock manufactured by the same company that was designed to secure an automobile's steering wheel.
