You are bidding on an original vintage US Civil War Light Dragoon Sabre with its original scabbard, both in very good condition, the blade never sharpened, and with nice patina, etc. The right side of blade at hilt is unmarked; the left side is marked, in 3 lines, U.S, then J.H, then 1847. T are no markings on the top of the blade. Handle is totally original with beginning wire separation but everything is t with nothing missing. This sword was purchased by me at an on location estate sale outside of Milledgeville, Georgia in the early 1970's. Sadly I have misplaced the documentation (family & estate name, bill of sale, etc.) but it was almost certain at the time that the sword saw Confederate usage during this war of Northern Aggression. If I find the documents at a later date I shall send them to the successful bidder at my expense. These original Civil War Swords are becoming very hard to find in this condition.
