Here's a colorful little shaker from a well-known pottery. The printed mark on the bottom reads: "Hand Painted Newport Pottery England." We're not pottery experts, but we believe that the shaker is related in some way to the flamboyant wares of Clarice Cliff. In good condition this cheery survivor stands 3.25 inches tall, and has a base diameter of 1&7/8th's inches. The colors are bright, and there are few signs of wear.....save for a couple TINY flea bites in the black ring just below the orange collar. There is an old cork rattling around inside. So there you have it......Art Pottery with a purpose. Please ask any questions which come to mind, and do not confuse photo flash reflections for damage.Addition: Several kind ebayers have informed us that this shaker is in the hard to find "SUNRAY" pattern. We cannot add this pattern name in the heading at this time as there are bids, but we include this information to help anyone who may not be familiar with it. With thanks to those who came to our aid in pinning down this pattern name.
