W.S George Fine China Collector Plates Columbus Discovers America The 500 th Anniversary Collection Complete Set of 6 Plates Plate Diameter: 8 ½” Artist Jordi Penalva This is a complete set of extra nice quality collector plates that celebrate Christopher Columbus, his men, his ships, his voyage and his visionary daring, that so thoroughly and forever, changed the history of mankind. All plates are in Excellent/Perfect condition with NO chips, cracks or repairs. Never displayed and rarely handled. The border bands are 22-Karat Gold-Etched. These plates were issued under official license of the Sociedad Estatal Quinto Centenario, a commission of the Spanish Government, and bears the hallmark of W. S. George Fine China in an edition that was strictly limited to a firing period of 150 days maximum. All plates have 500 th Anniversary 1492 – 1992 on them in gold.
