This auction is for a vintage Cox .049 Thermal Hopper model engine. This engine appears to be new and unused as I do not see any carbon on the top of the piston or any piston scuffing. The prop was stiff from sitting all these years so I put a few drops of penetrating oil on the cylinder and it turned properly. I listed it as used in the condition category but I am almost certain it is new. There are a few insignificant micro-scratches on the chrome on top of the cylinder where it appears that someone may have attached a battery clip to the cylinder but didn't start it. Not important at all but just mentioned to be thorough. Includes wrench, and instructions. The packaging is in fair condition with the red tray having some cracks and small pieces missing. The top clear packaging cover has some age toning. Original instruction sheet has some wear. As I said, I would make an educated guess that this engine is new old stock but I am not 100% sure. Because this is a vintage engine, it is being sold as-is.Winning bidder to pay $6.95 S&H for well packed shipping to anywhere in the lower 48 states.
