Vintage Damask Tablecloth-12 Matching Napkins-Unused Up for auction is a vintage damask tablecloth and twelve matching napkins. Both the cloth and the napkins have the original sizing and are un-hemmed. The napkins are also uncut. They come in three sections; one section of eight napkins; one section of three; and one individual napkin (the one photographed). The pattern on the tablecloth and napkins is the same, and is most easily seen on the photograph of the napkin. There is an outside border, an inner border of intertwined vines, then inside that is a border of flowers. The center is open, just having small dots. I'm sorry for the poor quality of the photographs - the sizing makes the pieces very shiny. The size of the tablecloth is 72" x 90" and the napkins measure 26-1/2" square. They both have their original tags from the T. D. Whitney Company of Boston (I found them listed in Boston business registers from around 1900). The damask appears to be very fine, but there is so much sizing on these pieces that it's hard to tell. As you can see, there is also some staining around the area of the tags.
