Beautiful long floss rya rug in several shades and thicknesses of blue, green, pink, beige, brown, cream and white featuring a modernistic tree design. Scandinavian rya rugs are not hooked - they are sewn with a curved needle and continuous thread which is then cut for pile. This rug was handsewn onto a heavy wool base and measures 15 by 46 inches. It has a loop at the top for inserting a rod for hanging. It was designed by Else Poulsson for Rauma Ryer and is called "Tre" or Tree in Norwegian. No one has ever walked on this rug. It was hung on the wall as a work of art. It is in absolute pristine, like new condition with no missing stitches or spots. The colors are gorgeous, much better than the picture. Swedish rugs. It is in excellent condition, very clean, because it has always been hung on the wall as a work of art.. Modern Scandinavian design at its very best. When packed, this rug should weigh 5 pounds.
