I recently got into the basement of an old Radio Broadcast Station. It operated from the 1930's until it closed down. The entire left-over inventory has been sitting in dry storage for years and years untouched and unseen. Visit my other auctions for more vintage Western Electric, RCA, and Daven broadcast audio equipment, transformers and attenuators. Here is an Amazing Vintage 1940 Daven Type 288-Y (Langevin, Western Electric Style) Broadcast Attenuator "Program Line Equalizer" Module with a Western Electric 406J switch and a 2-1/4" RCA Knob as shown. Serial # C43691. A 40-stepped Daven Type R-440 Rheostat attenuator, Impedance 3000, .5db/step. Here is what the catalog spec sheet says.... "Each assembly utilizes a sharply tuned parallel circuit in series with which is placed a calibrated step type control. The tuned circuit consists of a high "Q" coil and two capacitors tuning to either 5,000 or 8,000 c.p.s.". Very nice original cosmetic and working condition as shown. I will include color copies of my catalog spec sheets to the winning bidder. It measures about 3"w x 4"h x 7-1/2"d @ 3 lbs. This will make a wonderful addition to anyone's collection.
