I believe this necklace to be an old bakelite necklace called Cherry Amber. It is slightly over 30" in length. I am not a bakelite expert, but have tested it according to directions and still believe it to be Bakelite, although I have no sense of smell. I have taken many pictures (this time with lots of lighting and some of the beads directly over a light source -- some diffused, some not diffused. This is due to questions I had the last time. Last time it did sell, but buyer requested fraudulent customs form, so I cancelled the sale. The beads are graduated sizes, the largest bead is 10 mm or a bit larger and smallest beads are 6 mm. Beads are very pretty with a few light scratches but no significant wear or damage (3 of the smallest beads have slight surface scuffs). The closure is worked into the final two small beads on either end and it is a hidden screw in closure. -- Both of these end beads are chipped around the edges where they meet when closed. This is something that I did not see until I took the pics for this sell and enlarged them. Please see the closure in the pics. The beads are on a hand knotted red cord, but many of the knots are worn enough that some of the knots are no longer sufficient in size to hold the bead in place, so should be restrung.
