This is the perfect gift for a collector of Tobacco based items. This box is a desk top item and appears to have been used for tobacco items etc. The 3 compartments are each sized as if for matches, cigarettes and cigars. It has a small area in the front right to strike matches, (which shows that its used) and the entire interior is wood lined.The exterior is VERY UNUSUAL. The hinged cover appears to be of tile and either inlaid or hand painted. It depicts a gallery of smokers needs. The cigarette holder, stick matches, cigar, a long "Mearsham" type pipe, the knife to cut the tip of the cigar, the cigarette and the box of matches marked "Firenze". Could this box be made in Italy????? T is nothing to say w!!!Its 6 1/4 x 8 3/4, sits on 4 feet which have been reglued but done cleanly. The numbers 9351 are penciled in the bottom and the box has a lock but no key. A couple of nicks and some paint wear, otherwise in very good condition. This box is a great addition to your collection or a great gift for that man. Good luck in the auction.
