This auction is for a vintage music box with two dancing ballerinas. The ballerinas fold down when the lid is closed, and lift up as it is opened. They move up and down and spin in circles as the music box plays. I honestly have no idea how old the music box is but it was purchased in Western Germany when my uncle was there many, many years ago. The box itself is laquered over wood, I believe, and is in the shape of a couch. It has four feet on the bottom. The interior is crushed red velvet with a mirror behind the ballerinas. The outside color of the music box appears to be a light purple or light brown. The song is plays is "The last time Paris" as stamped on the bottom and the sound is beautiful. The box measures 9 1/2" long x 4 1/2" wide by 3.5" tall and weighs about 2 pounds. It is in very good condition; only item of note is one of the strips on the right inside of the music box where the lid sits is missing. This does not detract from the music box in any way. I'm sorry I didn't know how to capture the dancing ballerinas on video, however, if you search under completed items in Ebay another seller captured them. You definitely won't be disappointed with this music box. This type of music box is very hard to come by. I would suggest insurance on the shipping of this box just to make sure it is not lost.
