Found this old Drag Racing fire suit equipment down here in Florida at an estate sale. Fellow said his brother used to race in the 1960's up in Michigan and was probably from that era but I have no idea. I did a quick search and Bob's Drag Chutes made racing drag chutes and harnesses for racers in Hazel Park, Mich. A big lawsuit involving the death of a racer went against them I guess and now RJS Safety is the old Bob's Drag Chute company. So what we have here is the vintage fire suit funny car or dragster, hood and boots. All (3) have a neat old vintage Bob's Drag Chutes emblem, in the shape of a drag chute, on them. The helmet liner has a built-in rubber mouthpiece with 2 fire arrestor filters on them. The one by the nose says MSA on it with a line through it. The filters themselves have a bunch of ID numbers on the side of them. The stuff is a little dirty and stained but I assume that is just about what it would have looked like in the pits and I do not want to attempt any cleaning . Great items for your Drag Race museum or display in your garage. I am selling this vintage stuff with no returns or refunds, so please bid accordingly.
