This auction is for a VINTAGE DUTCH ZAANDAM WALL CLOCK FROM HOLLAND / movement made by Franz Hermle, The chime works on the 1/2 & on the hour- doesn't run at present- an adjustment/repair or cleaning is required . On the top of the brass bell stands Atlas. He is made of solid brass and is carrying the world on his shoulders. The top left and right side ornaments each have a shield and two Lions (solid brass) stands for JUSTICE. The top front ornament bears a woman surrounded with 3 small children and 2 more women holding a cross, a bible, and a bird, representing faith, hope, and charity. The FRONT ornament reads 'NU ELCK SYN SIN' which means "NOW EVERYBODY GETS WHAT THEY WANT" (also solid brass.) The wood case has a face (dial) decorated with a delft scenery , T is a heavy brass column on each side of the face. On each side of the case t are glass windows for viewing the movement. The clock measures 19" long x 8 " wide x 5 " deep . The movement is stamped: 79, Franz hermel ,, It comes with 2 solid brass pear shaped weights ( heavy ) . The pendulum is a rod with a horse and rider that measures 1 1/2 " with an adjustment nut at its base. Buyer to pay 32.00 shipping within USA & $ 18.00 for Canada .
