Vintage E. C. Atkins specality hand saw. This is not a typical keyhole saw but some kind of special backsaw for finish work. When I got this saw the blade was upside down and the handle was pointed downward. So the user apparently prefered cutting in an upstroke fashion with the blade facing upwards. The blade has a visible etch "E. C. Atkins & Co. Indianapolis, Ind. U.S.A Silver Steel Gas Tempered". Above the etch it has "J II". The blade is 20 " long and 2 1/8 " wide at the heel counting the teeth. It is 1" at the toe end and it has 15 PPI. I did not try to joint, and sharpen this saw as the teeth are very fine and I don't have a small enough file to sharpen the rip teeth this saw has. But the teeth need a good sharpening. Good Luck with the bidding and I will be glad to answer any questions or furnish more photos to bidders.
