.......After many years of collecting, I have enjoyed finding antique furniture, pottery, jewelry, autographs, movie & television memorabilia, vintage fabrics and many other collectibles. I have filled a house and a barn to the rafters! Some items have been safely in storage for so long that I can't even remember that I have them! So, the time has come to give up many of my treasures. During the next few months (maybe even years), I will be going through my "stuff" and listing wonderful collectibles and antiques from numerous areas of collecting and time periods. EDDIE FISHER- Young "Crooner" in the early 1950s who gained prominence with his own 15 minute televsion show. The show was such a favorite that Coca Cola gave him an unheard of $1 million contract to be their spokesman. By 1954 he was one of the most the popular singers of the day. Fisher life and career was also filled with scanal. In 1958 while married to Debbie Reynolds, his affair with Elizabeth Taylor was made public. He and Reynolds divorced in May of 1959 and just a few days later he married Taylor. He and Taylor divorced in 1964 after Taylor left him for Richard Burton, her co-star in Cleopatra. And interesting side note....... While Fisher and Taylor were married Fisher answered a telephone call for Taylor in which she was offered the role of Cleopatra (1963). read more
