Vintage 1977 Elton John and Bernie Taupin Dual Signed Booklet A prolific songwriter and a flamboyant performer, Elton John had 30 different hits on the top 40 charts between 1970 and 1982. His theatrical appearances, with John changing into a succession of elaborate costumes and outlandish spectacles, helped make him a pop megastar. Although Elton John lost a bit of his shine during the '80's, he re-emerged as a force in the 1990's, touring, recording and cementing his spot among the pop music aristocracy. John, like Paul McCartney, was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II in 1997. Today Elton entertains thousands in Las Vegas with his Red Piano show. The offered booklet was included with the original 1977 release of Elton John's Greatest Hits volume 2 . The booklet was signed at a limited signing engagement at Tower Records in New York City shortly after the records release. Elton penned his signature in blue felt tip while Bernie Taupin signed his name in black ball point. Both signatures were penned responsibly in contrasting areas for optimum visibility.
