Vintage Comoy's Briar Pipe Description: 's a nice vintage briar pipe! The markings on this pipe are extremely faint but I was able to make out "Comoy's" in block lettering on the left side of the shank, and "Made in London" (in a circle) and "England" (underneath) on the right side of the shank. If t was a shape number it's too faint for me to find, even using a jeweler's loupe! Canadian shape with nice graining. Pipe is just out of an estate and in used condition. Has been cleaned and treated with Bee pipe sweetener, but the bit is very discolored so it won't win any beauty contests without further clean-up. But as a smoker, it's ready to go! I just got in a large collection of pipes from the 1940s-1960s. Most are good English briars, all have been cleaned with the user in mind and are not show-pieces -- for example, when I clean a bowl I leave a layer of carbon 'cake' so the bowl won't have to be broken in again. Check out my other auctions for more pipes, and I combine shipping on multiple wins!Dimensions: Measures 5 3/4" long; bowl is 1 1/2" high. Condition: Good used condition with no chips or cracks. Top of bowl has scorching and the bit is discolored and has teeth marks, but no bite-through. If you're not happy with your purchase for any reason (except damage caused in shipping, which must be covered by insurance to be reimbursed)
