Up for bid is one vintage Feuerhand hurricane/barn/railroad lantern made in Germany. This lantern was marketed by Falk, Stadelmann Co. between WWI and WWII, it is probably 1930's vintage. It is 14 inches high not including handle with an 8 inch base. Both front and back side of top section have "Weir Feuerhand/Firehand Reg. U.S. Pat Office" pressed in relief and one side only of the bottom section has "Made In Germany Feurhand Nr. 280" pressed in relief onto it along with the makers logo of a hand holding fire which is also stamped onto the fill-cap. Outside has been lightly wiped clean of dust and debris but the inside will be dirty and left as found. Wick adjustment knob turns, but will only move the wick upwards and this only slightly. A magnet will stick to this lantern. T are 2 seams in the globe, each on opposite sides. A very desireable item for collectors of old lanterns, railroad memorabilia, farm equipment, etc. Wrapped, packaged and shipped with the absolute utmost care to the winning bidder.
