This is a previously smoked metal tobacco pipe. It has been reamed, cleaned, buffed and is ready to smoke. This pipe is a Filto metal pipe made in Burgaw, NC and I'm told the bowl is briar underneath the blue coating. The stem buffed out beautifully so there are no obvious chatter marks. Both the tube and bowl are in great clean shape. I talked to metal pipe collectors and they say the metal pipe smokes extremely well, is very easy to clean and is virtually unbreakable. Unlike some of their traditional briar pipes, this one travels well and they aren't worried about snapping a shank or stem on it. That durability and easy maintenance are two big reasons they won't part with their metal pipes. I like this pipe because of the generous tobacco chamber size that allows you to smoke for an enjoyable period. And the weight - the hollow tube is so light it holds comfortably in the teeth. This could be a really unique and interesting addition to your weekday rotation. Tobacco Chamber Diameter: Approx 13/16" Bowl Height: Approx 1 3/8" (not including tube) Bowl Widest Girth: Approx 1 7/16" Shank (tube): Approx 3 5/16" (not including cap or stem) Stem Length: Approx 1 13/16" Because estate pipes are previously smoked, every effort is made to thoroughly sanitize the stem, reduce the bowl cake and protect the briar for many more years read more
