FOLK ART / PRIMITIVE of UNION SOLDER (General Joseph Hooker) PRIOR TO BATTLE OF ANTIETAM VINTAGE OIL ON CANVAS A wonderful vintage Folk Art / Primitive of a Civil War Union Solder (Generral Joseph Hooker) on his horse prior to the Battle of Antietam (as noted in handwriting on the back of the canvas). Generous, large painting measuring 30" x 24 3/4" and in very good condition except for what must've been a small tear and it had been repaired. If you look at the photos posted, the last one shows the tear and the two before it show the repair. You don't even notice it until you turn the canvas on its back and see the repair work. This is a wonderful painting for a primitive/ folk art or Civil War collector. Artists initials appear in the lower right corner P.S. I acquired this painting at an estate auction in Massachusetts quite a few years ago and that's all I know about this painting. SHIPPING WITHIN THE CONTINENTAL USA IS $24.00
