Up for auction is a vintage football game with a super large board (28" x 21") was designed by Ward Cuff himself for Toy Creations. During the 1930's and 40's, Ward Cuff was an American football running back and place kicker in the NFL for the NY Giants, Chicago Cardinals and Green Bay Packers. The directions tell us the object of the game is to give "those beyond their competitive footballs days the thrills of contests in which they have figured". In other words, if you are too old to play football anymore or are a Sunday morning quarterback, this game is for you. In the box: 11 yellow & 10 red wooden playing pieces (one red one is missing, I guess - the directions in these vintage games don't list the number of playing pieces included), 2 wood blocks that must be the footballs, 2 cardboard contraptions that have metal pins for attaching a rubber band to kick the wooden block and the playing board. The box has been taped on all four corners.The board and playing pieces are in good condition. Spaldings Offical Football rules govern every play. Payment due within 3 days of close of auction.
