Vintage framed In Flanders Fields poem Poppies I'm not a collector but I think this is an incredibly beautiful framed vintage copy of the famous World War I poem In Flanders Fields by Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae of the Canadian Expedition Forces. I can't find another one like this anyw on the Net. It's about 9.5 inches from top to bottom in a worn gold wood frame and about 7 and ¾ inches from side to side. It's a bit yellowed but the red poppies painted around the top of the poem are still colorful. T is a rectangular image at the bottom that looks like an American flag and a sword. I can't tell if the poppies were painted on this poem or if they were printed on it. Just above the tallest poppy is a circle that may be some kind of discoloration but the more I look at it the more I wonder if it is supposed to be a light image of the sun or moon. I honestly can't tell but to me this vintage item has a lot of character and is a touching reminder of the sacrifices made by armed forces to secure our freedom.
