This vintage fishermen with fishing boats oil painting was purchased in an antique store in Saint Louis approximately 15 years ago and it is simply beautiful. It originally came from Copenhagen, Denmark and was painting by an artist from the area. The antique dealer had several of this artist's paintings which I have owned four and still have two others to sell besides this one. The antique dealer had given me his name but unfortunately I am not able to remember it since it has been a long time. I believe either his first name might have been ' Christensen ' or something similar to it and I remember I found him on the internet. The artist painted this painting in the 1930's or 1940's. He lived in the Copenhagen area and painted the coastal area including rocky seascapes, sandy beaches, and picturesque fishing villages with working fishermen. He was a very talented artist and did such a nice job painting the seaside areas which is why I fell in love with his paintings which is why I purchased as many of them as I could. If you are able to read his name or if you recognize the artist, please let me know his name. We are moving across country in a few months and it is time to pass them on to their next beloved home. This large oil painting measures 30 1/4 inches from side to side with the frame and 24 3/4 inches from top to bottom.
