From my Fathers estate, what we believe to be a vintage 1860's French bayonet. What makes this sword so unusual is the tip of the guard ( at the the curved end) comes to a point rather than the standard balled end you see on all the the other bayonets. We did a lot of research on the internet and this is the only one with this type guard that we have seen. Close up photos show all the identifying marks. USA sales only.
