Our apologies to the several bidders whom contacted us after the end of our last listing as their bids had not been registered although made in the last minutes rather than with seconds to spare - we have not been able to reply via the eBay messaging system and have a similar bed to that last listed if you'd like to contact us again. This vintage French upholstered double bed is offered as a project as it came in in a job-lot of frames. The frame is relatively modern, dating from around 1970 (there are quite a few on eBay of the same age being described as antique...) and does not have traditional fillings. I have added a few images of beds that we have finished to client specifications in the last few weeks that will give you an idea of what you can achieve, two of the beds shown are antique, the others are much later. The upholstery will probably clean up acceptably if you're looking for a bed that's ready to use - all you need add is a base and mattress. The frame is robustly constructed in the French style with captive fixing bolts to each end of the side rails and the frame builds very securely in a matter of minutes.
