Early French Silk Ribbon Work Shade. Garland of Melal work trim and PINK Roses. So Chic and Lovely. Garland Metal Lace work Ribbon roses Inside top view Inside, bottom view I recently went to an amazing estate sale in Grand Rapids Michigan. The estate was of a couple who were married in the 1940s and lived in Europe. I met their daughters and their parents collected while abroad . The home was filled with many French and italian antiques This is just the sweetest silk vintage lamp shade.So Petit; the silk is in much loved condition .The work is incredible. The background color on the front is a pale ice blue and the back layer of silk is a deep rose.The outer layer of silk is worn but the rose silk is in tact. The trim is the best ever! Fab metal brass work on the top and bottom edges line the sweet tiny shade. The center is a flowing garland of open pink roses, leaves and metal work. The metal trim is in the form of ruffelled lace and amazing. The lace work is a work of art with roses and buds made from fine ribbon and silk thread. This petit little shade has so much going for it and is just wonderful. This is French ribbon/metal work at its finest.
