This is a stunning set of original vintage handpainted dinnerware called Gay Plaid, handpainted by Blair, circa early 1940's. T are 84 pieces total (Service for 12), with 12 green placemats and 12 napkins included with the set. Total value of the dinnerware on Replacements is $1,115.26.The set consists of the following pieces:12 square Dinner Plates, 9 7/8" 12 square Bread & Butter Plates, 6 1/8" 12 square Coupe Cereal/Soup Bowls, 5" 12 square Fruit/Dessert Bowls, 4 1/2" 12 flat Cups 12 sqaure Saucers 12 12 oz. Tumblers, 5 1/4" high 12 green Placements 12 matching green Napkins All pieces are in unusually fine condition with little to no wear, except for the following: 1 chipped fruit bowl (see photo) 1 chipped cup (similar chip as fruit bowl) 2 Cereal/Soup Bowls with slight interior crazing (see photo) 2 Cups with slight interior crazing 3 Saucers with very slight crazing Each piece is signed "Blair decorated by hand" on the underside. This is an exquisite collectible set of Gay Plaid Dinner Pottery which were purchased as a wedding gift by the owner in the early 1940's.
