This is a very nice vintage Genesee Beer light that works perfectly. It has an inline switch to turn it on and off. The image is a bit decieving in that it is a plastic front attatched to a metal back with a fluorescent bulb inside. The image of the sign is a thin cardboard paper of the horse, bear and western guy, which is attatched. It is cut out at the oval and the words Genesee Beer is on the plastic part. I'm guessing this is how they were making them and I would place it from the 1960's. It is beautiful as you can see from the pictures. I've never seen one like this one before. The sign is 19 3/4 in. wide by 14 3/4 in. tall. It is 3 3/4 in. deep. I know this is an East coast beer and I have had it hanging in my bar in the midwest for 10 years and I have got a lot of complements on it. I have moved to a new home and it does not fit in with my new bar now. If you are looking for a rare Genesee light or a great western look, this is the one you should have. thanks for looking. I did some research and found out this painter lived from 1874 to 1962. He seems to have been a well known painter, Robert Farrington Elwells works sell for high amounts.
