Up for auction is a Pre-Owned RARE, VINTAGE GERBER HUNTING KNIFE WITH DARK GREY ARMORHIDE METAL HANDLE AND IT'S ORIGINAL GERBER BROWN LEATHER FITTED SHEATH, CIRCA LATE 1960's. THIS IS A MASSIVE KNIFE WITH A 6" BLADE AND MEASURING 11" OVERALL. IT IS IN GOOD CONDITION, AND HAS IT'S ORIGINAL GERBER FACTORY BLADE. THE KNIFE HAS THE GERBER LOGO SWORD STAMPED ON THE UNDERSIDE OF THE HANDLE.THIS KNIFE ALSO HAS THE ORIGINAL GERBER BROWN LEATHER SHEATH INCLUDED WITH IT. THESE ORIGINAL SHEATHS WERE CONSTRUCTED WITH A HIGH BACK THAT EXTENDED ABOVE THE "THROAT" OF THE SHEATH TO PROTECT THE ARMORHIDE FINISH ON THE HANDLE AND TO INSURE THE PROPER CARRYING POSITION WHEN PLACED ON A BELT. IT IS STAMPED WITH THE GERBER NAME ON THE BACK SIDE . PLEASE NOTE ~ THIS SHEATH SHOWS SOME HANDLING AND DISCOLORATION FROM NORMAL USE AND HAS A TINY BIT OF CRACKING AT THE BOTTOM OF THE SHEATH.
