This is a VERY OLD German beer mug with a very decorative pewter lid. The mug is decorated in the colors green, brown, and beige. T is a scene in the middle of the mug showing a man in a boat reaching out to a lady on the shore. The mug shows the words in German: "Wie auch die Uhr und das Weibchen uns winkt - Gluecklich ist nur der der sein Stehseidel trinkt". This translates to: No matter how much the clock or a woman is calling you, only the person drinking his beer, is happy. The mug is in excellent condition and measures 8" tall with a bottom diameter of 3 1/2". It is stamped on the bottom: "Germany". A nice collectible from a long time ago.
