Vintage German Regimental Military Lithophane Beer Stein Great ConditionThis is a vintage German Regimental Military beer stein. This piece is 11 1/4" tall to the top of the soldier on the lid. This stein is dated 1896-99 and is intricately detailed with military scenes and gold gilt laurel leaf bands. It features a lithophane on the bottom of the stein that displays a soldier saying a tearful good bye to his lady. A lithophane is defined as a three dimensional image in translucent porcelain which can only be seen when back lit with a light source behind it.This beer stein is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. The graphics are crisp with great color and the lithophane is a unique feature. The pewter lid is also in excellent condition.
