Glass Movie Slide: The Lie (1918) âe" Elsie Ferguson /title/tt0009295/ Measurements: 4âe x 3.25âe Condition: No Cracks. No broken tape. Slide is in excellent condition. The weave pattern you see in the white portion of the slide is the pattern of the tablecloth behind it. The slide itself is clear in those areas. Up for bid is an original Magic Lantern Glass Movie Slide originally shown at the Rose Theater in Port Townsend, Washington during intermission time. This slide is one of several slides (list below) from my Grandparents estate. They have been in my family ever since they purchased the Rose Theater building in the early 1960âe(tm)s. The slides come in their original condition and have not been cleaned or restored. Some slides have cracks and I will describe each one as I list them. The Rose Theater opened in 1907 and continued operating until November 8, 1958. The Rose Theater later re-opened July 11, 1992. These slides were used during the silent picture era between 1917 and 1934 with most ranging between 1918 and 1920. They were used to advertise upcoming movies, plays, local events, businesses, community announcements, political campaigns, etc. around the Port Townsend, Washington community.
