This is a very Rare antique and vintage Heart pendant. It is 3 dimensional with a flower in the center holding one pearl at the top center with 2 rubies and one sapphire. The back piece behind the flower has a brushed design on the gold. The flower top and bottom pieces are held together by three gold balls that keep the shape of the gold. The outer pieces of the gold also have a detailed design pattern within the gold. You will also notice the front lower part of the heart appears to be where you would put a key this cutout continues to the back I can only assume this to mean "you hold the key to my heart" I believe this piece is gold but I cannot be sure of the carats, I do believe it to be 14 karats but it is unmarked and I cannot remember for sure, it was a gift that I received 24 years ago. I do remember that it was purchased from a jeweler in the diamond district in New York City that purchased estates jewelry and we were told it was 100 years old at that time! It's a beautiful rare piece and would make a great valentine's gift!
