Up for bid is a rare and hard to find golf collectible. It is a high quality Golfer Statue Ashtray made by the Derby S. P. Co. Internationals Co., as marked on the bottom, also marked are the numbers 1554 and t are four hallmark marks also. I believe this statue to be silverplated, and probably dates from the late 1920's to early 1930's, since the company went out of business in 1933, and he is wearing the vintage golf clothing of those days... knickers and a cap. He stands 4 1/4" tall from base to top of cap and is 3 3/4" at widest point of base by 5 3/8" wide, the ashtray diameter is 3 1/4". This little guy stands in golf pose staring intently at the ball, ready to swing, from the weight of item i believe he is solid. The base w he stands is textured, as is all around the rim of the ashtray. The detail is really cool on the knickers and cap, and his facial expression is great! The overall condition is excellent with some minor scratches in front by ball and a small nick in cap above his right ear, does not detract from overall look, really nice piece. This is the only one of its kind on eBay, even completed listings. Thanks for taking the time to look, good luck to all bidders.
