This might look like an ordinary violin with NO LABEL , but you will be surprised how great the tone is if you are the winner. It is a full size instrument with a two piece slightly flamed maple back, a tightly grained spruce top, and inlaid purfling.. It has fine solid professional construction with great care on details such as the scroll and the inlaid work. As you can see the form is very precise which include the ff holes and the bee sting purfling wing corners. As you MIGHT BE ABLE TO SEE, the top tables have thin vein like cracks that were very well repaired . ( it is hard to see them clearly on the pictures) T are two on the top right front, one on the top left front, and two on the bottom just right of the tailpiece. These repairs are solid and do not affect the very, very nice tone of this instrument. T are NO OPEN SEAMS and NO OPEN CRACKS. Although it is set up with steel strings, the classic tone comes through in a loud and resonant manner. The very pleasant, mellow tone is something you would expect in an old instrument with aged woods. The sound is vibrant, resonant and mellow in the low registers as well as sweet and responsive on the higher notes. The finish is a beautiful light amber brown with great patina (shine).
