This wonderful old green bakelite thermos jug is a pure delight. It stands around 10" tall and has all the style you associate with the 1920's in such a desirable colour! It has a sturdy chrome plated handle and the case is made of an early bakelite style plastic. It is marked on the base as being made by Thermos (1925) What is truly remarkable about this jug is it still has the original label mostly intact. It is very worn but if you hold it under a strong light you can just make out "Thermos Vacuum Vessel" The fact that the label has survived when this is very clearly a jug that has been used and loved over the years is fantastic. It would benefit from a good clean and I suspect some light polishing would bring the lustre back to the plastic surface. The stopper has a cork seal which has become hard and a bit shrunken and discoloured over the years. For this reason I suspect it would not be very good at keeping thigs at the right temperature for long periods. The plastic casing has a slight crack running through the moulded join from the top. It is not very noticable but it is there so I mention it for completeness of description. There is also an area towards the base of the jug that has been subject to some heat damage and it has caused the surface to bubble a bit.
