Up for auction today is a vintage 18 piece Griffiths' spice set with its original holder. The jars are milk glass with metal caps. Four of the caps are red, four are black, four are yellow and six are blue/green. All of the jars, except two, have a silver colored shaker under the cap. The front of each jar is clearly labeled with the name of the spice, the word purified over the name of the spice, and the manufacturers name, GRIFFITHS' horizontally printed (see pictures for details). The back of each jar has the original label detailing the use of each spice. All of the graphics, both front and back are in clear, legible condition.The spices listed on the jars are; ground nutmeg, poultry seasoning, ground clove, chili seasoning, garlic salt, ground bayleaf, ground ginger, cinnamon, dry mustard, thyme, black pepper, paprika, marjoram, celery seasoning, roastmeat seasoning, curry powder, cayenne pepper, and allspice. Each of the jars is approximately 4 inches tall, 1 1/2 inches wide and 1 1/2 inches deep and they are all in perfect condition with no nicks or breaks. The caps are in good condition with no breaks or dents except one minor dent on one of the caps, and only the usual paint scratches that you would see on a vintage item this old.
