This vintage amateur license plate is from my dad's estate. He was K9IL, or as he'd call it while chasing a country or participating in a contest...K 9 India Lima. I can't tell you how many times over my child and adulthood I heard coming from his den. My dad started on ham radio as a teenager and did it up until his last day. He had worked every country available and had tubs full of QSL cards, several from countries that no longer exist. He was one of the fastest CW operators in Tennessee (where he retired to) and Illinois and helped his radio club place in the top 5 in state on Field day for several years. While going thru the garage we came across several of his ham radio license plates. I've seen where people collect plates, refurbish plates, or use them in craft projects. My dad would of loved to see them have a new life somewhere, he was all about reinventing and using what you have.This listing is for his 1979 Illinois Amateur Radio license plate.I have seen in youtube videos were you can straighten out a plate in a vice but I don't feel capable of trying this myself.Look over the pictures carefully, there are signs of wear and age.This item will be shipped using USPS first class mail.I do combine on shipping when multiple items are purchased.
