O'Hammer is well known for his expressive clown portraits.
His fame is justified. He's a skilled and inspired artist.
In his execution of "Clown on a Bench," he's outdone himself.
He's turned away from the usual happy clown.
Here he's portrayed a sad man, sitting along on a park bench, reading.
He's oblivious to the cold wind blowing autumn leaves around him.
He's ready to travel—but to where?

Materials: Oil on canvas. Frame is gilt or gilt paint over wood. Signature: O'Hammer (blurred) 60 Measurements:
