As part of the engraving on the lower bottom: Drawn by T. Allom, Dying and Winding Silk, Engraved by G. Paterson and a #2. You can see the impression of the metal etching plate. The engraving is in good condition, just a few loose specs of dust under the glass. No stains or tears on the paper. There is a sticker on the back of $65.00, by Finishing Touch. Not sure if that is for the framing or the etching as shown. This is one of the etchings from "China in a Series of Views". Published as a part work by Fisher & Son, London 1843. Unsure when this etching was printed. The wood frame is lovely and does show it's age with edge wear on the paint, no chips or cracks. Framed under glass, paper backed which is torn and hooks for hanging, size framed 16" x 19". Thomas Allom was an English architect, artist and topographical illustrator, (1804-1872). He was a founding member of what became the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) and designed many buildings.
