This a very nice and extremely rare Van Berkel Meat Slicer with patent dates in 1912. I do not know any history about this particular slicer. The world's first food slicer was invented by Wilhelm Van Berkel. I think this is a model B and it is supposed to be one of the best and smoothest operating slicers ever made. This slicer is in great shape and apparently has never been restored to my knowledge. As you can see from the photos his picture has little rust and has not been repainted. It still has some of the original gold pin striping. I have seen others on and in my opinion this is one of the nicest ones. It does not have a sharpener but that can still be purchased from a parts dealer. If you are the winning bidder I will check to see what will be the best proceedure for shipping. If available I will ship worldwide. E-mail me for more photos if you would like to see closer shots. I did not mention that everything turns and works as it should.
