Vintage Handmade Folk Art Primitive Style Hooked Rug: "Ashley's Fish" DESCRIPTION This is a vintage handmade folk art primitive style hooked rug. The colorful rug is 2' x 3' and is made of wool and cotton hand hooked through a cotton burlap backing. The design of the fish and the table setting is centered on a navy blue field. The piece is named "Ashley's Fish" and was made in 1987. We purchased it that same year at a art exhibit in Richmond, VA. The artist stitched a curtain rod sleeve on the reverse side of the rug at the top so that the rug can be displayed as a wall hanging (see photo of the reverse side). CONDITION The Ashley's Fish primitive style hooked rug is in excellent condition with no rips, tears, holes, frayed areas, or fading. Except for these pictures, we have never had the rug on the floor, and have either displayed it as wall art (away from direct sunlight in our smoke- free home) or have carefully stored it. I ship by United States Postal Service. Payment is due within 5 business days from the close of the auction. I will combine items to save on shipping costs.
