Vintage Harold Gale Display Santa Claus Figure.... Wonderful, Jolly Ol' St. Nicholas in whimsical 'days-of-old' form & ready to help you decorate for Christmas! (I estimate this figure to be from the late 1950's to early 1960's). Santa has a beautiful composition(most likely paper mache') Face. His beard, hair & eyebrows are of genuine whispy WOOL fiber. He stands a grand 22" tall- from the tip of his White plastic boots..to the top of his Red Velvet Hat! Santa's suit is lucious, soft vintage Red Velvet- trimmed in White faux "fur" and a White plastic Belt with silvertone metal Buckle. Overall, Santa is in great vintage condition and I see no cracking or crazing to his sweet face. His beard has darkened a bit, over the years. (I did not attempt to clean or comb). The Boots are attached to the back of Santa's pants with thread and do slip off- but I suppose you could hot glue them, if desired. Santa's body is most likely a block of heavy wood which is then covered in a foam rubber full body form. Santa's arms & legs are stiff wire, inside the foam. His White Plastic Boots bear the mark, "Rosbro Plastics Corp. Rhode Island". Because Santa's rotund Belly makes him a bit top-heavy...and he's 50+ years old...he doesn't stand well on his own- unless propped up against something.(a simple dime-store Doll stand would remedy this!).
