BEAUTIFUL VINTAGE HAWAIIAN KOA WOOD CALABASH from the 1930's in TERRIFIC CONDITION! This is a 10-day auction to endure the Easter week vacation but I will be checking emails - be sure to check out my other auctions for more rare Hawaiiana artifacts currently listed! This richly grained Hawaiian Koa wood calabash bowl measures in at 6.5" at its widest point X 4" high X .25+" thick. Bearing no makers mark the shape, finish and coloring of the Koa wood place this elegant bowl at about 1930's-40's. It appears to have been lathe turned then finely finished by hand with a stunning rubbed exterior finish and light interior sealer coat. Overall the bowl is in excellent condition with the exception of a hairline crack that runs across the center bottom and up one side (you can seen it faintly in the pictures of the bottom), it looks to have been repaired at some time since it is completely stable and aesthetically minor ...this is a very stunning little early calabash...so Bid to Win!!
